The general objective of the COMONSENS Network is to bring together Spanish research groups
participating in projects of the National R+D+I program, focusing on shared and complementary
areas of knowledge. The network aims to promote and harmonize group collaboration and create
synergies beyond individual project results. Centered on leveraging and visualizing research
outcomes in signal processing, information theory, and machine learning, the network seeks to foster
collaboration in wireless communications, navigation, sensing and quantum communications.
Additionally, it aims to generate synergies across various sectors, including telecommunications,
industry, mobility, and health.

The novelty of the COMONSENS network’s objectives lies in the ambitious approaches and tools
proposed to achieve its specific goals, which are:

  1. Broaden the range of research subfields, technology scenarios, and application sectors in
signal processing, information theory, and machine or deep learning.
  2. Ensure the persistence and further creation of collaborative projects targeting
    challenging and extensive research programs.
  3. Develop academic-research programs through Joint Research Seminars (JRS) embedded
in the institutions’ PhD or Research Master’s curricula.
  4. Create an ecosystem for joint publications on JRS topics, with specific participation from
    PhD candidates and post-doctoral researchers.
  5. Enhance the visibility of the groups’ computing platforms and testbeds among and
beyond COMONSENS network partners, and identify databases and experimental facilities
    that can be shared.
  6. Promote connections between international researchers and Spanish groups, eventually
serving as a platform for attracting talent.
  7. Strengthen influence on the European research agenda concerning the network’s
    research topics.

We also organize Spain Workshop on Signal Processing, Information Theory and Communications (SIC).
